Our quality

About Our Dried Black Raisins

Black raisins (kali kishmish) are sun-dried from a darker grape variety than the more common golden ones, which is what gives them that deeper, almost jaggery-like sweetness and richer colour. We pick large, plump berries and skip any added sugar or preservatives โ€” the sweetness here is entirely from the grape itself.

Many households soak a small handful in water overnight and eat them first thing in the morning, which softens them and is said to make the iron easier for the body to absorb. Beyond that, they work well stirred into warm milk, added to a homemade laddoo mix, or eaten straight as a dense, chewy snack when you need something more substantial than a plain raisin.
